Sustainable Merton at the Heating & Utilities Advice Day

Updated: Sep 28, 2018

On Saturday 18th October, Sustainable Merton took part in the Heating & Utilities Advice Day at The Hub, organized by the MP for Mitcham and Morden, Siobhain Mc Donagh.

We spoke to many residents about how they can save energy through simple behaviour changes and how an energy monitor can help you to identify where most energy is being used and wasted in the home. It was a great opportunity for us to help you learn more about reducing your carbon footprint and your energy bills! More residents also signed up to Merton’s Mega Recycle to be in with the chance of winning £250!

The energy monitors were so popular that we managed to get through the day’s supply.

A number of the ‘Big Six’ energy providers and local groups such as AgeUK and social housing providers attended the event, and a representative from Smart Energy UK was present to discuss Smart Meters – something which we found particularly interesting to hear more about.

The Director of Energy at the Citizens Advice Bureau hosted a question and answer session for residents and if you have any more questions/queries about how to save energy in the home, please feel free to contact us in the usual way.
